2006 was a great year for game downloads. The diner games genre picked up real steam, with a ton of great games. Bettys Beer Bar was the first game that really brought the genre to the game download fan. Unfortunately, its racy subject matter created a lot of roadblocks to market.
The Diner Dash franchise expanded with multiple sequels, including Diner Dash Flo on the Go. Other companies threw their hat in the diner games ring, with titles like Cake Mania, Carrie the Caregiver, and Delicious Deluxe providing players with hours of customer-serving fun.
New hidden object games like Hidden Expedition Tiantic and Travelogue 360 Paris proved themselves to be excellent downloads. It turns out that finding hidden objects is a lot of fun!
Some new genres make their way into the game download market, too. Aveyond was a great surprise and provided players with a lot of great story. Westward was something new, too, providing strategy elements to game players who hadn't really seen something like that before.
